Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing team. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong customer-facing capabilities. You will work across pre-sales, solution design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of complex BI and planning solutions, while also supporting and mentoring junior and mid-level team members.
This is a fully remote role, with the final candidate to be based in Europe or North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced Power BI reports and semantic models for enterprise customers
- Develop and maintain complex SQL Server solutions, including views, stored procedures, performance tuning, and data modeling
- Apply DBA fundamentals including indexing strategies, query optimization, monitoring, and basic security best practices
- Collaborate directly with customers during pre-sales, solution scoping, and technical demonstrations
- Lead and execute customer implementations, including requirements gathering, design workshops, and delivery
- Translate FP&A and business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Work closely with internal teams (sales, product, delivery) to ensure solution quality and customer success
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior and mid-level BI developers
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices across BI and planning implementations
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, usability, and maintainability of existing solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience developing enterprise solutions in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, performance optimization)
- Strong SQL Server development experience (T-SQL, views, stored procedures, data transformations)
- Solid understanding of relational data modeling and BI architecture
- Experience working directly with customers in a consulting, implementation, or solutions engineering role
- Strong ability to gather, challenge, and refine business and technical requirements
- Familiarity with FP&A concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow modeling
- Experience with planning, budgeting, or performance management software (e.g., TM1, Anaplan, Adaptive, similar tools)
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, distributed environment
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-tenant or large-scale Power BI deployments
- Power BI deployment pipelines, ALM, or DevOps experience
- Exposure to financial consolidation, workforce planning, or operational planning use cases
- Experience mentoring or leading small technical teams
- Prior experience in SaaS or consulting environments
